As I lay in the hammock, under the old tree, a pair of squirrels skitter past, chasing each other up the bark on the far side, away from me.

Eyes drowse closed against the scattered, dappled, sunlight (skitter, pause, skitter, from the other tree now).
Something thwacks lightly across my nose and touches my cheek and lips, causing me to levitate out of the hammock, with a manly squeak.
A whirleygig seed has spun down, knocked free from the arboreal antics and landed on my face.
One of the squirrels hesitates and looks down at me. I swear it is laughing at me.
The games continue as I lay back, struggling to regain my calm.
